HeartThreads recently outfitted the San Marcos H.S. Girls Golf Team with shirts. The girls collectively as a team selected their own affirmation; which is: Aim High. The greatest danger is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that our aim is too low and we reach it. I am in perfect aim with life.
What happened at the first tournament of the year is a testament to the power of the shirt and the belief of the students. Scheduled to play the top ranked school in the county at Lake San Marcos country club and wearing their Heartthreads shirts, the girls (who were considered the underdog in the matchup) were victorious.
Congratulations ladies! We are proud to be a part of your team.

Here is a letter to Heartthreads from San Marcos Girls’ Golf coach Scott Boyens.
Dear Sirs,
I’m Scott Boyens, varsity girls’ golf coach at San Marcos High School,
San Marcos, CA. We were privileged and blessed to be outfitted with
HeartThread golf shirts during our matches during the fall of 2009. The shirts were very comfortable, durable, beautiful, and inspirational. The first match the girls wore their HeartThreads we upset a league opponent we hadn’t beaten in years. Our final league record was 7-5, good enough for third place. Our previous couple years found us winning at most 3 league contests per year. The girls were inspired by the story of HeartThread clothing, and we as coaches know that it enabled our players to “up their game” in ways that mere coaching technique and pep talks cannot achieve.

Heartthreads was pleased to be a part of this years Birdies and Butterflies Golf Tournament supporting Shakti Rising – a local social change organization for women and girls. While we were able to do the small part of providing tank tops for the event (which read “Get Shaktified”!) the real beneficiaries of the event turned out to be us.
We are touched and thrilled to have such a wonderful organization right here in our area, one that encourages and empowers girls and women to have a positive influence on their families, local communities and beyond. A primary goal of Shakti Rising is to create “women and child-friendly societies that are safe, healthy, vibrant, diverse, sustainable and culturally alive”. Definately a cause we can all get behind, and a mindset we can cultivate to support our own communities. Transformation starts with us.
With all of the negative energy being created by the media, society, etc… it’s quite evident that it is hindering the ability to create a solution for both the leak (gush) and the cleanup. It’s time we replace the bad energy with good energy with a collective affirmation exercise. And donations… Here’s the exercise – For one month we collectively repeat the following positive affirmation and think positive thoughts for the people, wildlife, and businesses of the gulf region. By using the psychological technique of repeating affirmations with our combined personal power we can replace the negative energy surrounding the area with positive energy; an essential element to a healthy environment.
Repeat this affirmation daily (as many times as possible)
The gulf and its shores are a beautiful place. Abundant with all of life’s glory.
In addition, HeartThreads will make a donation of $3 to the Nature Conservancy for each HOPE shirt sold until they stop the leak. We are all in this together, we are all connected. It’s time to be held accountable. Feel it, believe, and transform. With this power we can turn this disaster around. Your positive attitude is the fuel for this success.

As we get ready to don our red, white and blue this weekend, two things come to mind – freedom and friends (and fireworks, of course). The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays for those very reasons. It’s a chance to put aside politics as usual and unabashedly celebrate the greatness of our country… and down a few million hot dogs as a nation.
It reminds me to be alive and to live in the moment, and like the Live now! shirt says : to be present in my surroundings and embrace every experience with joy and vitality. Who doesn’t want to live that way every day, not just one weekend every year?
Choose joy. Choose vitality. We are entitled to it. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are ours to enjoy.
So get out your flag, light a sparkler and really live this weekend and every day thereafter.
